Victorin &Quot;Vic&Quot; Backes

Victorin Nicholas Backes was born February 16, 1934 in Lindsay, Nebraska to Joseph and Nell (Dohmen) Backes. He received his early education in Lindsay and attended trade school in Omaha. He served in the United States Army. Vic married Irene Chochon on May 10, 1958 in Tarnov, Nebraska. He worked as an autobody mechanic for 14 years. In 1973 he began working for Sands Livestock Systems. He then worked for Veissman Trucking and NPP. Vic was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Holy Name and V.F.W. Vic enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events, fixing vehicles and antique tractors. He also enjoyed spending time and having coffee and playing cards with his friends.
