Zelda Zee Van Winkle, 83, of Silver Creek died Tuesday, July 20. 2004 at the Osceola Good Samaritan Center. Funeral services are 10:00 am Friday, July 23, 2004 at the United Methodist Church in Silver Creek with the Rev. Bev Hieb officiating. Visitation is on Thursday from 5-7 pm at the United Methodist Church in Silver Creek and continues from 9 am until service time at the church on Friday. Interment is in the Silver Creek Cemetery.
Zelda Zee Van Winkle was born July 15, 1921 in Silver Creek to Irl J. & Gertrude E. (Lauder) Ward. She grew up in Silver Creek and graduated from Silver Creek High School in 1939. She married L.T. "Buss" Van Winkle on May 4, 1941 at the United Methodist Church in Silver Creek. The couple lived in Silver Creek where they farmed. Zee also cooked for the school for 7 years, 5 years as the head cook. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Silver Creek where she belonged to the United Methodist Women for over 50 years and taught Sunday School for 15 years. She was a member of the Country Club, Sewing Club, and AKSARBEN since 1962. She also helped with Meals on Wheels.

Five Step-Great Grandchildren
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, a Daughter-in-law Betty Van Winkle, and a sister Wilda Ward.
