Wilma Stoklasa, 87, of Grand Island, formerly of Columbus died Thursday, August 5, 2004 at Beverly Health Care-Park Place in Grand Island. Services are 10:30 am Monday, August 9, 2004 at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Columbus. Visitation is on Sunday from 5-8 pm at McKown Funeral Home with a Vigil service at 8:00 pm, also at the funeral home. Visitation continues Monday morning from 8-10 am at McKown Funeral Home. Interment is in Columbus Cemetery.
Wilma Stoklasa was born November 1, 1916 in Colfax County to Karl and Frances (Maly) Jedlicka. She grew up in the Wilson area of Colfax County where she attended rural schools. Wilma married Lumir Stoklasa on June 20, 1940 in Schuyler. The couple farmed south of Clarkson until moving to Columbus in 1953. She was primarily a homemaker while her husband worked for Becton-Dickinson. Lumir died in 1984. Wilma loved baking kolaches, rolls, gardening, and canning. She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers.
