Wilma Haferland

Wilma Haferland, age 89, of Columbus died Sunday, November 24, 2013 in Columbus.

Wilma Haferland was born February 2, 1924 in Cornlea, Nebraska to Joseph and Mary (Schmitt) Schaefer. She grew up in the Lindsay area where she received her education. Wilma married Glenn Haferland on April 14, 1948 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus. Along with raising her family, she also worked at Adams Cafe and the Husker House for many years. She was an active member of St. Bonaventure Church. Wilma volunteered at the Simon House, meals on wheels, perpetual adoration, Columbus Hospital, food pantry and Morys Haven. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, canning, baking, gardening, traveling and quilting.
