William "Bill" Leitschuck

William "Bill" Leitschuck , age 78 of Monroe died Monday, February 4, 2019, at the Genoa Community Hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 8, 2019 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Genoa. There will be a 7:00 p.m. vigil service Thursday in church. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the church. Visitation will continue Friday morning 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Military honors will be held by American Legion Swanson Post #322.

Bill was born September 27, 1940, to William and Rose (Martin) Leitschuck at Pawnee City, Nebraska. He and his family moved to Boone County at age the age of 2. Bill attended school in Boone County till his junior year. He was in the Army for 2 years before being honorably discharged.

Bill was married August 3, 1967 to Janice Campbell at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Spalding, NE. They lived in Columbus until 1977 when they moved to Monroe.

Bill worked at Behlen Manufacturing in Columbus for 33 years before retiring 2001. Bill was a member of the Monroe Legion Post 0322. Bill was a devoted husband, and a loving father and grandfather. Bill was a huge Nebraska football fan, enjoyed his grandchildren and taking care of his yard. Janice and Bill celebrated their 50 ^th Anniversary August 3, 2018.

Bill is survived by his wife Janice of Monroe

Children: Katheryn (Dennis) Ray of Spalding, Dennis and special friend (Lori Johnson) of Albion and David of Columbus

Grandchildren: Brandon, Nicholas, Trevor, Amanda, Dalainee and Kadence

Also survived by sister: Marilyn Wallick of Algona, Iowa

Sisters-in-law: Pat Leitschuck of Lincoln and Berdina Leitschuck of Grand Island

Also survived by many nephews and nieces.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Rose, Brothers, Keith and Gerald, Brother-in-law Loran Wallick and nephew Steve Wallick.
