William "Peanuts" Dreifurst, age 83, died Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 25, 2019 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus with Reverend Ross Burkhalter officiating. Visitation is 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Sunday with a 6:00 p.m. Vigil Service at St. Anthony Church. Visitation continues Monday morning from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. also at the church. Burial is in the All Saints Cemetery with military honors by Hartman Post #84 American Legion Honor Guard.
William M. "Peanuts" Dreifurst was born June 26, 1935 in Lindsay, Nebraska to Lawrence and Agnes (Schmitz) Dreifurst. He attended Lindsay Holy Family School. Bill served in the U.S. Army from December 1959 – February 1962. He married Bev Korup on October 13, 1963, in Madison, Nebraska. Bill co-founded and operated B-D Construction, Inc. until retiring in 2015. He was a member of St. Anthony Church, Eagles Club, and Elk's Club. Bill enjoyed golfing, shooting pool and was an avid sports fan, especially Husker Football. Bill enjoyed his grandchildren very much.
