Wesley Stankoski died Friday, December 30, 2016 at the Brookestone Acres in Columbus.
Wesley L. Stankoski was born January 11, 1930 in Fullerton, Nebraska to Adam and Mary (Stetz) Stankoski. He attended school at Krakow, Nebraska. Wesley served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1952-1954 and received his honorable discharge in 1960. On July 9, 1960 he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Czapenski at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Silver Creek. Wesley worked for the Grand Island Ammunition Plant, Moorman Manufacturing in Columbus and Husker CO-OP in Silver Creek. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and the Silver Creek American Legion. Wesley enjoyed working on John Deere mowers, fishing in the local lakes and on the Platte River, spending time with friends and family (especially on the river with his grandchildren), and his dog Missy. He was well known for keeping the town of Silver Creek clean by walking around and picking up aluminum cans.
