Walter Bialas, 94, died Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at the Genoa Community Hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 10, 2025, at Ss. Peter and Paul - Krakow. Visitation is Sunday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the church. There will be a rosary prayed at 10:15 a.m. Monday. Burial is in the Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery. Military honors by the Silver Creek American Legion Post #263 and members of the US Army Honor Guard.

Walter Bialas was born March 24, 1930, in Nance County to Charles and Mary (Sturek) Bialas. He grew up on the family farm. He attended Krakow school and District 25 until the 8th Grade. After attending school, he helped on the family farm. Walter then joined the US Army, where he served his country in Korea. On April 4, 1959, he was united in marriage to Beverly Vetick at Ss. Peter and Paul – Krakow. The couple farmed near Krakow, until he decided to slow down in 2024. Walter enjoyed polka music, football, teasing his grandchildren and spending time with his family. He was a lifelong member of Ss. Peter and Paul – Krakow.

Daughter: Roxanne (Steve) DeLay of Omaha
Son: Jim Bialas of Genoa
Grandaughters: Jessica (Matt) Bakthasekaran of Tennessee
Stephanie (Trevor) Roach of Omaha
Great Grandchildren: Parker, Nash, Logan and Eden
Brother: Richard Bialas of Columbus
Brother: Johnnie (Maxine) Bialas of Fullerton
Sister-in-law: Emily Bialas of Silver Creek
Nieces and Nephews

He is preceded in death by:
Parents: Charles and Mary Bialas
Brothers: Edward, Louis, Steve, Lloyd, Leonard and Daniel Bialas
Sisters: Frances Zelazny, Belbina Zona, Dorothy Bialas and Rose Tworek
