Virginia F. Lippstreu

Virginia "Ginnie" Lippstreu, age 85, of Columbus, died Friday, December 13, 2019 at her home in Columbus.

Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at Word of Life Church.  Visitation is Tuesday from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at McKown Funeral Home, and will continue from 9:30 a.m. till time of service on Wednesday at the Church.  Interment will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.

Virginia Florence Lippstreu was born June 10, 1934 in Polk County Nebraska to Fred & Florence (Koester) Alt. She attended grade school in rural Polk County and graduated from Shelby High School at the age of 16. Virginia then attended Wayne State Teachers College and received her certification as an elementary school teacher. She worked at several rural grade schools before going to work for General Telephone Co. in Columbus. In 1956, Virginia was united in marriage to Jim Lippstreu. To this union, she was blessed with 5 children. After her children grew up, Virginia became involved with mission work which took her to several different countries around the world. Virginia's spirit for adventure had her moving to several different places around the country and taking on many different career paths. When she decided to return to Columbus, she continued her love of adventure by receiving her CDL and being employed by CSSI as a driver. This career blessed Virginia with the opportunity to travel around the country and meet some wonderful people. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, and dancing (which she was an expert at).

Sons: Curt Lippstreu, Doug (Diana) Lippstreu, and Tracy (Sally) Lippstreu all of Columbus
Daughter: Kelli (Mike) Cielocha of Columbus
Sister: Janice Braasch of Rising City
Sister-in-law: Jean Alt

1 Great Grandchild
