Viola Thalken

Viola died Thursday, January 27, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Columbus.

Viola Thalken was born September 22, 1917 in Howells, Nebraska to John and Tillie (Vice) Svoboda. She graduated from Howells High School on May 27, 1935. Viola taught country school near Howells. On June 5, 1938 she was united in marriage to Leonard Thalken at Zion Presbyterian Church near Clarkson. The couple farmed in the Clarkson & Leigh area until December of 1987 when they moved to Columbus. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Viola enjoyed gardening and baking.
