Viola passed away peacefully Saturday, November 12, 2011 at her home in Columbus.
Viola was born on February 20, 1938 to Herbert and Anna (Murray) Haase of Garland, NE, where she attended school. She then went to work for Russell Stover Candy, followed by the Seward Egg Plant for two years. She married the late Leroy Svoboda on February 11, 1961 and was employed by Douglas and Lomason of Columbus for 34 years as a production worker, before retiring in 2000. After Leroy passed away in 1976, Viola raised her two children. On September 20, 1986, Viola married Doug Rueth and was married to him up to her passing.
Viola had many interests and past-times. She enjoyed yard work, gardening, watching Lawrence Welk, square dancing, and watching her kids, grandchildren and great grandchild grow. She enjoyed 25 wonderful years with Doug. Viola had a simple outlook on life that was faith based, and she was always selfless in her everyday approach to life. She was loved by all her were fortunate to know her, and she will be missed by all.
