Veronica M. Wieser, age 74, of Columbus died Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at her home in Columbus following a courageous battle with cancer.
Veronica M. "Vernie" Wieser was born February 5, 1935 in Genoa, Nebraska to Peter and Eleanor (Prososki) Vetick. She grew up in Silver Creek, Nebraska and received her education at District #35. She married James P. Wieser on October 2, 1956 at St. Bonaventure Church. She retired from Becton-Dickinson after 35 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Vernie enjoyed cooking, canning (she was famous for her dill pickles and fried chicken), working jigsaw puzzles, and playing McNasty.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Alvin Vetick.
