Vernell Rankin

Vernell Rankin of Columbus died Thursday, August 18, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Columbus.

Vernell Rankin was born October 14, 1917 in Columbus to Paul and Della (Elston) Kissell. She attended St. Bonaventure School and was a 1935 graduate of Kramer High School. On May 3, 1941 she was united in marriage to Edgar D. "Chief" Rankin in Little Rock, AR. Vernell lived in Denver during World War II before returning to Columbus in 1946. She was a devoted wife and mother. Vernell also worked at Tooley Drug off and on over the years. She enjoyed watching sports, especially the Packers and the Yankees, and playing cards.
