Verna Jarecki, of Omaha, formerly of Columbus died Wednesday, December 19, 2012 in Omaha
Veronica Ann (Verna) Jarecki was born on January 22, 1920 in Genoa, Nebraska to John and Anna (Zelasney) Kmiecik. She married John Jarecki in Columbus, Nebraska on October 14, 1940. She and John were residents of Columbus until moving to Schulyer in 1963 to build and operate Johnnie's Steak House. Verna was an exceptional cook and known for her Polish recipes.
She is survived by three sons: Jim (Terrie) of Texas ; Ron (Debi) of Arizona and Mike (Tammy) of Omaha and two daughters Marcee (John) Timmermans-Courtney and Esther (Ron) Sindelar of Omaha. Survivors also include six grandsons: Todd and Tim Timmermans; Cory and Kiely Sindelar; and CJ and Brad Jarecki: five grand daughters; Denise Mallia and Danielle Jarecki ; Laurie Tatum, Carrie Beatus and Brittany Jarecki.
She is preceded in death by her husband John, daughter Mary Lou, grandson John Jarecki, son-in-law Larry Timmemans, two sisters, six brothers and one great grandson, Gabriel Sindelar.
