Vera Brand

Vera R. Brand, age 72, of Silver Creek, Nebraska died Wednesday December 5, 2001 at Lincoln LGH West in Lincoln, Nebraska. Funeral Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday December 5, 2001 at the United Methodist Church in Silver Creek with Reverend Bev Minor officiating. Burial will be in the Silver Creek Cemetery. Visitation is 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Thursday at McKown Funeral Home in Silver Creek. Visitation will continue on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church.

Vera R. Brand was born April 25, 1929 in Gage County, NE to John & Mabel (Van Winkle) Andrews. She married Charles Brand on June 30, 1947 in Marysville, KS. She lived all of her married life in Silver Creek. She worked at Dale Electronics in Columbus for 17 years before owning and operating Vera's Cafe in Silver Creek until 1994 when she sold the business due to illness. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Silver Creek, the United Methodist Women, and the American Legion Auxiliary.
