Valjean Sohl

Valjean H. Sohl, age 64, of Columbus, Nebraska died Sunday April 21, 2002 at St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Funeral Services are 11:00 a.m. Thursday April 25, 2002 at McKown Funeral Chapel with Reverend Dr. Paul L. Rowoldt officiating. Visitation is 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation continues Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service time also at the funeral home.

Valjean H. Sohl was born December 25, 1937 in Madison, Nebraska to Herman C. and Maria (Severin) Sohl. He graduated from Leigh High School. Val worked in Omaha, Nebraska before moving to Columbus where he went to work for Lueschen I.G.A. He married Helen Galley on June 7, 1958 at St. Bonaventure Church. Val also worked for Oasis Bar, Curly's Bar in Leigh and then Joe & Al's Grocery Store until retirement. He enjoyed playing fast pitch softball in his younger years and recently enjoyed selling pumpkins at Halloween.
