Valeria Murcek

Valeria M. Murcek, age 90, of Columbus, Nebraska died Wednesday August 21, 2002 at the Columbus Community Hospital. Funeral Services 10:30 a.m. Friday August 23, 2002 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus with Reverend Joseph A. Miksch officiating. Burial will be in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Visitation is 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Thursday with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service at McKown Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Friday morning from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. also at the funeral home.

Valeria M. Murcek was born November 29, 1911 in Polk County, Nebraska to Gregory and Mary (Czarnik) Gonka. She attended St. Anthony grade school. On September 7, 1937 she was united in marriage to Edward Murcek at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus. Valeria worked fro Swift Co. and St. Anthony Cafeteria until retirement. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and St. Theresa Sodality.
