Val Peterson, age 42, of Platte Center, Nebraska died Saturday, February 11, 2006 at the Columbus Community Hospital. A Memorial Service will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday; February 15, 2006 at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus. There is no visitation. Burial will be in the All Saints Cemetery in Columbus.
Val Peterson was born November 30, 1963 in Kearney, Nebraska to Dale and Regina (Wardyn) Peterson. She graduated from Loup City High School in 1982. Val moved to Columbus, Nebraska in 1988 where she worked at Becton-Dickinson until 1997. She later worked for Duster's, Regal Liquor and then for James Arthur Vineyards in Raymond, Nebraska. In May 2005 Val opened her own wine and beer making Cellar Supply Store. She was a member of the Nebraska Grape Growers Association and enjoyed making wine and kayaking.
