Twyla M. Burge

Twyla died Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Morys Haven in Columbus.

Twyla M. Burge was born September 12, 1922 in Deloit, Nebraska to Cleo and Goldie (McVay) Jones. She graduated from Clearwater High School in 1942. On October 9, 1944 Twyla was united in marriage to Glen A. Burge at Riverside Church in Antelope County, Nebraska. She taught school in Holt County. In 1962 the couple moved to Columbus where Twyla raised her family and worked various jobs. She was a member of the Federated Church for 50 years, AARP and CARTA. She was also a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary, lifetime member and past president of Parents Without Partners and at the time of her death she was the oldest Civil Air Patrol member in the State of Nebraska.
