Troy Bernt, of Columbus, died Saturday, July 18, 2026 at his home.

Funeral service is 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2026 at McKown Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time.

Troy Bernt was born April 13, 1963 in Columbus, Nebraska to John and Carolyn ( Walgreen) Bernt. He graduated from North Bend Central in 1981. He worked at the Schuyler meat packing plant and Hy-Vee in Columbus, Nebraska. He was a member of the Victory Christian Fellowship church.

He was a die-hard Nebraska Huskers and Green Bay Packers fan. He spent his Saturdays bleeding Husker red and Sundays cheering on the green and gold.

Nephews and Nieces:

Matt, Shelby, Ryan, Samantha, Jaydn, Nicholas, Shayla, and Noah

Great Nephews and Niece: Coltyn, Kyler, and Kingsley

He was preceded in death by his father.
