Todd Prorok, age 58, died Saturday, April 25 in Columbus.
Funeral Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 1, 2026 at St. Edward Catholic Church. Visitation is Thursday 4:00-7:00 p.m., followed by a 7:00 p.m. Vigil service, all occurring at St. Edward Catholic Church.
Todd Alan Prorok, son of William “Bill” E. Prorok and Marjorie (Dickinson) Prorok, was born December 14, 1967, in Albion, Nebraska. He attended St. Edward Public School and graduated in 1986.
Todd worked for Hagerbaumer Drywall in Genoa and Ewerts Drywall in Columbus, where he built lasting friendships through his easy-going nature. He was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and the pride he took in doing a job well. He earned the respect of those he worked alongside.
Todd cherished time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and joy. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching sporting events. Known for his great sense of humor, Todd was often found with a drink in hand, trying his luck at Powerball, and always ready for a good time.
Todd passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 25, 2026, in Columbus, Nebraska, at the age of 58.
He is survived by his children: Blake Prorok; Brittney Vance (Jesse); Dakota Prorok (Allison); and Kienan Prorok; his significant other, Mary Henke; bonus children, Robyn Determan and Cole Lloyd (Hannah), and Chelsey Backhaus (Keith); six grandchildren, Graham and Noah Vance, Elayne and Malcolm Lloyd, Rosie and Brinn Backhaus; two sisters, Paula Lloyd (Jim) and Jody Prorok (Tom); three brothers, Daniel Prorok (Paul), Chuck Prorok (Amy), and Jason Prorok (Sarah); two aunts, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Marge Prorok; Grandma Carm; and his nephew, Cooper Prorok.
