Thomas J. Kluever, age 50, of Columbus, Nebraska died Saturday, June 17, 2006 at the Columbus Community Hospital. Memorial Services are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church in Columbus with Reverend Bill Ritter officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at McKown Funeral Home. A private family burial will be held at the Columbus Cemetery.
Thomas J. Kluever was born August 8, 1955 in Columbus, Nebraska to Allen and Valetta (Lewis) Kluever. He graduated from Columbus High School in 1973 and then attended Central Community College in Hastings, Nebraska. In 1974 Tom went to work at Central Parts & Machine, Inc. in Columbus and Albion and currently was co-owner with his brother Allen. He married Cynthia Bukacek on June 30, 1996 in Columbus. Tom was a member of the Elks Club, the National Arbor Day Foundation and the National Home Gardening Club. He made a special wing sauce which was famous locally. His hobbies included car racing and restoration, playing pool, shuffleboard, planting and growing trees and landscaping. His love of the Miami area led to a business venture of hand made palm trees. He also enjoyed watching his martins return every year.
