Therese Mortensen

Therese Mortensen, age 94, of Albion, Nebraska died Friday, April 16, 2021 at Edgewood Vista in Columbus, Nebraska.

A Graveside Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Albion with Rabbi Kenneth L. Cohen officiating.

Therese (Malka) Mortensen was born April 1, 1927 in Casablanca, Morocco to Joseph and Saada (Dadoun) Malka. Along with her sister Alice, Therese worked as a high fashion couturière for Christian Dior and also worked in her brother Raphael's tailor shop. Both were the loveliest and most fashionable women in Casablanca. On November 9, 1955, Therese was united in marriage to Quentin Z. Mortensen in Casablanca. The couple moved to Quentin's home town of Albion, Nebraska where Therese continued her sewing and knitting as well as other talent of baking. She was a member of the Craft Club and Arts Council. Therese appreciated the many wonderful friends she and Quentin made in the Albion community and beyond.

Son John of Prairie Village, KS
Son Jeff (Gabrielle Alesi) of Sanford, FL
5 Grandchildren and 1 Great Granddaughter
Sister Alice Bitton of Montréal Quebec, Canada
Brother Jacob Malka of Paris, France
Brother Uri Malka of Kiryat Motzkin, Israel

She is preceded in death by:
Husband Quentin Z. Mortensen
Brother Eli Malka
Brother Raphael Malka

A gathering to celebrate the memory of Therese  will be held at a future to be determined date.
