Theresa Wemhoff, 89, of Columbus died Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Brookstone Acres in Columbus.
Theresa Rose Wemhoff was born March 21, 1926 in Humphrey, NE to John and Mary (Smith) Fuchs. She attended St. Francis Catholic Grade School and High School in Humphrey and graduated in 1944. On April 11, 1945, Theresa married Joseph P. Wemhoff at St. Francis Church in Humphrey. They lived in the St. Marys area on the farm. Theresa worked at Klub 81, the Humphrey Democrat as a Line A Typist for 6 years and at the City Meat Market in Humphrey for 5 years. In 1983 they moved to Columbus where Theresa worked as a cook at St. Isidore School. Theresa was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers. She was a volunteer for the Red Cross, Columbus Community Hospital and at St. Isidore School. Theresa also served as the chairperson for funeral dinners at St. Isidores for many years. Theresa enjoyed cooking, gardening, playing cards, and attending the many sporting events and other activities of her family. She was also a member of St. Isidores Quilting Club for many years.
