Theresa Mae Schmidt

Theresa M. Schmidt of rural Monroe died Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at her home.

Theresa Mae Schmidt was born June 14, 1950 at St. Mary's Hospital in Columbus to Paul John and Helen Lucy (Shotkoski) Jazwick. She grew up in Platte Center where she attended elementary school at St. Joseph's Parochial School and Platte Center High School. On January 9, 1971 she was united in marriage to Ernest Lawrence Schmidt at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Platte Center.

Theresa worked at Wal-Mart for the past seventeen years. She had worked as a Pharmacy Tech since the opening of the Super Wal-Mart in Columbus, NE. Her co-workers and customers were truly her friends. Theresa spent each Spring through Fall working out in her yard and garden, and enjoyed the help from all five of her grandchildren. Theresa was an active member in her church at St. Joseph in Platte Center, NE and taught several years of CCD classes and served as an EMHC. Theresa enjoyed being a member of the Modern Mrs. Club, along with all the friendships that she made through it.
