Terry W. Mathis

Terry W. Mathis (1945-2023) 77, of Wichita, Kan., passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023. Terry was preceded in death by his mother, Laura Cagel. He is survived by his wife Donna Mathis of Columbus, Nebraska; son Terry Mathis Jr. of Indiana; son Jesse (Jennifer) Mathis of Wichita.  Grandchildren: Chance,  Lizzy,  Jaycee, Jaelyn and Jordyn. Great-grandchildren: Lilly, Sophia and Norah. Stepchildren: Justin (Ashley) Podany, Jaime Rohloff, Josh Podany, Jennifer (Brian) Barber, all of Nebraska; Cole Weyer of Wichita. Step-Grandchildren: Jasmine, Aalijah, Briley, Averee, Ryker, Aubrie, Logan, Noah, Albie, Tanner, Trey, Clayton, Tinsley.

Terry was born in Pickens, South Carolina and spent the majority of his life in Kansas after serving three years in the United States Army.  Terry worked 48 years at Coffee Time (Prairie Fire) in Wichita before retiring but continued his passion for race cars and car parts until his last breath. Everyone who knew Terry will remember his ornery sense of humor and funny antics. He will be greatly missed by many friends and family until we see him once again in his "forever home".

Funeral services will be held in Wichita on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Westview Baptist Church with a graveside service at Roselawn Cemetery in Columbus at 1pm on Friday, January 13, 2023. Friends and family are welcome to attend.
