Ted Mahood

George Theodore "Ted" Mahood, 81, of Genoa, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017 at the Genoa Community Hospital. The family will greet relatives and friends from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Thursday, December 28th at the Rice Funeral Home Chapel. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday December 29th at the Rice Funeral Home Chapel. A private burial will be held at a later date at the Palestine Baptist Church Cemetery in rural Lindsay.

Ted was born to Robert F. and Elsie (Rankin) Mahood on August 19, 1936 in Genoa. After graduation from Saint Edward High School, he had an opportunity to attend the Air Force Academy. Ted served his country in Army National Guard from 1960 until 1963. Ted chose farming as his career and lived his entire life on the family farm. He was a member of the Palestine Baptist Church. One of his favorite activities was attending auctions.

Ted is survived by his brother Robert (Judy) Mahood of Council Bluffs, IA, sister Joyce (Gary) Olson of Genoa, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
