Tamara Gill

Tamara Gill, age 71 of Columbus, died Monday, January 6, 2025 at her home.

Graveside Services with Military Honors by the American Legion Hartman Post #84 Honor Guard will be held on Friday, January 10 at 1:00 pm at Columbus Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Thursday, January 9 from 5-7 pm at McKown Funeral Home.  At 7:00 pm Thursday there will be a service by the members of the Nebraska Nurse Honor Guard, also at the funeral home.

Tamara Gill was born in Ogden, UT on July 2, 1953 to Warren and Connie (Pope) Ryden.  She grew up in Utah where she attended schools. Tammy joined the US Navy where she met and was united in marriage to John Gill on February 29, 1972 in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. They lived in Pasco, WA before moving to Sioux City. They moved to Columbus where she received her LPN Degree at Central Community College. Tammy worked as a nurse for over 50 years including at the Columbus Manor for 25 years.

Tammy enjoyed playing with her grandkids and playing Bingo. She enjoyed long drives with her husband John and watching the cranes.

Tammy was a proud member of the Forty and Eight Club Veterans Organization as part of the American Legion.
