Susan "Suzie" Korth

Suzie M. Korth of Columbus died Monday, November 27, 2023 at her home in Columbus.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 Saturday, December 2 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church.  Visitation is on Friday from 4-7 pm with a 7:00 pm Vigil service to follow, all at the Church.  Visitation continues on Saturday morning from 9:00 am until service time at the church.  Interment is in All Saints Cemetery

Susan "Suzie" Maria Lange, age 67, was born on March 15, 1956 to Clayton G. and Carolina (Buti) Lange in Columbus, Nebraska. She grew up in Columbus and attended St. Bonaventure Elementary School and Third Ward (Lincoln Elementary) School. Suzie graduated from Columbus High School in 1974 and earned her Secretarial Science Degree from Central Community College Platte Campus in Columbus, Nebraska in 1976.

While at college, Suzie met the love of her life, Terry J. Korth, where she took the initiative to ask him to a dance. They hit it off and were later married on June 24th, 1978 at St. Bonaventure Church in Columbus, Nebraska. They raised 5 children together, constantly following them around in all of their sporting events. She loved watching her kids play! Suzie was the hardest worker in everything she did. And she would do everything with her big bubbly smile and distinct, contagious laugh. She worked at Walmart, Super Saver, Mancuso's Dental Office, Scotus Cafeteria, and the Court House. Suzie loved to bike, walk, and bake. She was an amazing baker and was known for her famous monster cookies among other goodies she passed out to family, neighbors and co-workers just to make their day. Suzie especially loved and adored all of her grandchildren.  She always dropped everything for them and spoiled them rotten!

Suzie is survived by her husband Terry, her five children Kristie (Jon) Brezenski of Columbus, NE, Nick (Ashley) Korth of Elkhorn, NE, Katie (Dan) Severa of Elkhorn, NE, Tony (Sam) Korth of Bennington, NE, and Kellie (Scott) Jarecke of Columbus, NE; her in-laws Alvin and MaryAnn Korth, sister-in-law Michele (Randy) Oppliger, sisters Alda (Keith) Karel, Maria (Lowell) Elliott, Elisa (Greg) Paprocki, and brother Clayton (Beverly) Lange, 17 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Suzie is preceded in death by her parents Clayton G. (1999) and Carolina Lange (2009).
