Stephen Fremarek

Stephen Fremarek, age 86, of Columbus died Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at his home. Private family services will be held at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus with Reverend Tom Weisbecker officiating. Public visitation is Friday from 4:00 - 7:00 pm with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service at McKown Funeral Home. Interment is in All Saints Cemetery with Military Honors by Hartman Post #84 American Legion Honor Guard.

Stephen Charles Fremarek was born October 5, 1920 in Chicago, Illinois the only child of Stanley and Ann (Palowski) Fremarek. He attended parochial grade school and graduated from Harrison High School in Chicago. After graduation he served in the U.S. Marines during WWII from September 1940 - June 1946. Steve married Mary Ann Margaret Todey on July 8, 1946 at the U.S. Naval Base in Crane, Indiana. The couple operated Craftwood Lumber in Chicago for many years. When they retired they sold their shares and moved to Tucson, Arizona until 2001 when they moved to Columbus. He was a member of St. Bonaventure Church in Columbus.

Son: Don (Debbie) Fremarek of Lake Villa, Illinois

Grandson: Jeff (Jill) Fremarek and their children Madeline and Maxwell of Columbus, Nebraska

Granddaughter: Jennifer (David) Welte of Denver, Colorado

Granddaughter: Jessica Fremarek of Chicago, Illinois

Granddaughter: Amanda Fremarek of Chicago, Illinois
