Stephanie Syslo of Cheverly, MD died Sunday, March 31, 2013 at her home in Cheverly.
Stephanie Kay Syslo was born April 13, 1953 in Genoa, Nebraska to Henry and Virginia (Czarnick) Syslo. She grew up on the family farm in Nance County where she attended District 25 school. Stephanie graduated from Norfolk Catholic High School in 1970. She received the Regents Scholarship to University of Nebraska-Lincoln and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry. Stephanie continued her education at Iowa State University in Ames, IA where she received her Master of Science. Stephanie moved on to the University of Florida-Gainesville where she studied Agronomy. It was at this time that Stephanie received her job offer at the Environmental Protection Agency in Washington DC. She worked for the EPA for more than 20 years as a Risk Assessment Leader and subordinate to the Branch Chief in the pesticide division. Stephanie loved to garden and was a Star Trek Trekkie.
