Stella Martin, of Columbus formerly of Silver Creek, died Saturday, April 24, 2010 at the Columbus Community Hospital.
Stella Martin was born December 3, 1911 in Tremonton, Utah to Frederick and Frances (Stark) Evans. She attended school in Layton, Utah. In 1933 Stella married Ernest Martinez in Utah. She later married Vernon W. Martin on July 8, 1943 in Malad, Idaho. Following WWII Vernon and Stella moved to Silver Creek, Nebraska where they built and operated Martin's Cafe. The couple later retired and moved to Missouri where she worked as a seamstress. In early 1980's they moved back to Silver Creek. In 2008 Stella moved to Crown Villa in Columbus. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Columbus Hospital Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and the Senior Center. Stella enjoyed sewing, gardening, reading and playing cards.
