Shawn Noonan, 34, of Columbus died Monday, December 3, 2007 as result of an automobile accident North of Columbus. Funeral Services are 10:30 am Saturday, December 8 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 12.5 miles north of Columbus on 48th Avenue, with the Rev. Brad Birtell officiating. Visitation is on Friday from 3-8 pm at McKown Funeral Home with an Eagle's Auxiliary service at 5:15 pm. Visitation continues Saturday morning from 9:30 until service time at the church. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 am Saturday at St. John's Church. Interment is in the Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family to help with the children's educational funds.
Shawn Noonan was born February 27, 1973 in Norman, Oklahoma to Lewis and Kathy (Weber) Corn. Following her fathers death, she moved to Columbus. Her mother remarried Lee Seda who raised her as his own daughter. She attended West Park Elementary School, Columbus Junior High School, and graduated from Columbus High School in 1991. Shawn continued her education at Platte College.
On May 25, 1996 Shawn was united in marriage to Greg Noonan. They moved to Lincoln where she worked for Time Warner Cable. After 3 years they moved back to Columbus where she was a stay at home mom. This past spring, Shawn went to work for the East Central District Health Department.
Shawn was the past President of the Eagles Auxiliary and the past President of the Shell Creek PTO where she was currently serving as the Secretary/Treasurer. She served on the board at the Food Pantry, was active with the American Cancer Society and their Relay for Life, MOPS, and was a volunteer at the Columbus YMCA day care. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
