Sandra Jo Knox

Sandra Jo Knox, 89, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026.

Services will be held on August 15, 2026, at St. Isidore's Catholic Church in Columbus, Nebraska. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by Mass at 9:30 a.m. A luncheon will follow at Traditions Inn at 11:00 a.m. Interment is in St Bonaventure Cemetery

Sandra was born on April 22, 1937, in Hollywood, California. In 1965, she moved to the Columbus, Nebraska area, where she became co-owner of Husker House, a family business founded by her parents. She remainedinvolved with the business until its sale in 1980.

Following her time with Husker House, Sandra worked for Grunemeier Insurance before beginning a successful career in radio advertising sales. She later joined KZ100/KLIR Radio, where she built lasting relationships throughout the community and worked until her retirement in 2015.

Above all, Sandra cherished her family. She was the proud mother of six children, grandmother of four grandchildren, and great-grandmother of one great-grandchild.

The lake held a special place in Sandra's heart. She loved the lake community and the friendships she made thereover the years. Some of her happiest memories were watching her children grow up enjoying the water—skiing, boating, swimming, and spending countless summer days together with family and friends.

Sandra also enjoyed spending time with her close friends, sharing laughter and conversation with her girlfriends, and embracing the simple pleasures of life. She will be remembered for her warmth, independence, sense of humor, and the many friendships she cultivated throughout her life.

Sandra is survived by her children: Kimberly Kaminski of Columbus, Nebraska; Kristine (David) Walker of Wayne, Illinois; Katrina Kaminski of Columbus, Nebraska; and Kourtney (Jennifer) Kaminski of Omaha, Nebraska.

She is also survived by her grandchildren: Nicholas (Tiffany) Worsham of Columbus, Nebraska; William Walker (fiancée Claire) of Geneva, Illinois; Harrison (Oliwia) Walker of Algonquin, Illinois; and Olivia Kaminski of Omaha, Nebraska; as well as her great-grandson, Hayes Walker of Algonquin, Illinois.

Sandra was preceded in death by two of her children, Kevin Kaminski and Kelly Kaminski; her parents, Frankand Arlene Knox; and her brother, Frank Knox Jr.

She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.

The family suggests memorials be directed to the SCOTUS Central Catholic Memorial Fund.
