Samuel "Sammy" Nahorny

Samuel Nahorny of Columbus died Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

Because Sammy has touched so many lives through love, kindness, inspiration, and the work of Sammy’s Superheroes, which raises funds for childhood cancer research, the family respectfully requests that the Vigil Service be attended in person by family and close friends of the Nahorny and Cimpl Families only. All others are invited to join the family in prayer by watching the services via livestream at www.mckownfuneralhome.com at 5:00 pm on Thursday. The livestream will provide an opportunity for everyone who has been touched by Sammy’s life to come together in prayer and remembrance, regardless of where they are. The family is deeply grateful for the love, support, and prayers of all.

Visitation for close friends and family will be from 3-5 pm Thursday at St. Isidore Church with a Vigil service to follow at 5:00 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial for all will be at 10:30 am Friday at St. Isidore Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, plants, or other gifts, the family encourages memorial donations to Sammy’s Superheroes to help continue the fight against childhood cancer and carry forward the meaningful work that Sammy helped inspire. The family is deeply grateful for the love, support, and prayers of all who have been touched by Sammy’s life.

The guestbook, memorial table and a picture video will be available at McKown Funeral Home on Thursday from 9-3 pm for those wishing to leave the family a card or memorial.
