Samantha “Sami” Vargas Mora age 17, of Columbus ,NE passed away on Saturday 28th in children’s hospital in Omaha,NE

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 April 10, 2026 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. Visitation will be April 9th from 5-7pm service in the Parish Center. Please enter the Church using the north doors, using the north parking lot.  There will be a 7 pm Vigil service in the Church. Interment is in All Saints Catholic Cemetery after mass with Father Jairo Enrique.

Samantha Vargas Mora was born in Columbus, NE at Columbus Community Hospital Maribel Mora and Silvestre Vargas. Her nickname was “Sami “ and was known amongst her community from school to church and all family members. Samantha was a junior at Lakeview High School and a bright light in the lives of so many. She loved her family deeply and was a role model to her cousins, nieces, and nephews and nieces . At school, she was known for her spirit and loyalty. Samantha loved her Lakeview Vikings and rarely missed an activity—always cheering, always encouraging, always showing up. She wasn’t just a fan—she was part of what made the Lakeview community so special. Samatha was amazing daughter, she love her family so much she was the baby of the family and brought so much joy into life. Samantha loved church and was a server for the alter and would be their hold the cross from beginning of church to when mass would end. Samantha plans for when she graduated school was to follow her passion on be coming a nurse to help her family and anyone that needed help she was planning on attending University Of Omaha and following her nursing career. Samantha was a bright star with so much life, passion and love to still give but god had other plans and now she is flying like the beautiful butterfly that she is🦋.
