Ruth R. Gernstein of Columbus died Thursday, November 6, 2014 in Columbus.
Ruth R. Gernstein was born October 11, 1924 in Greeley, CO to Henry and Marie (Wiederspahn) Gettman. She grew up in Greeley and graduated from Greeley High School in 1941. Ruth moved to Denver in 1944 where she worked for Woolworth's, Central Bank, Lerner's, and Gate's Rubber Company for 12 years. She also worked with Cub Scouts for many years. In 1945 Ruth married Don Ehrlich to which one son and two daughters were born. In 1971 Ruth married LaVern Gernstein in Castle Rock, CO. They moved to Columbus in 1977. Ruth traveled with her husband while he drove a semi-truck, visiting 47 states. Ruth loved the Rocky Mountains, working with flowers, her dogs, gambling, and watching the Broncos.
