Ruth Beiermann

Ruth Beiermann, age 97, died Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Cottonwood Senior Living in Columbus.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Zion Lutheran Church – Grand Prairie. Visitation is Friday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at McKown Funeral Home. Burial is in the Zion Lutheran – Grand Prairie Cemetery.

Ruth Adeline Beiermann was born November 27, 1926, to John and Elsie (Wetgen) Goering in Platte Center. She attended District 28 school and graduated from Platte Center High School in 1944. After high school, Ruth attended Wayne State College, where she earned her teacher certificate in 1945. She worked at several schools, including District 49, District 11, Cornlea Country School, and Creston.
On June 17, 1952, Ruth was united in marriage to William James Beiermann at St. Bonaventure Church in Columbus. Following their marriage, the couple briefly moved to Omaha and then returned to the farm in 1953.
Ruth enjoyed being involved in the Upper Ten Extension Club, American Legion Auxiliary, and Grand Prairie Zion Lutheran Church. She also enjoyed gardening, baking and being with her grandchildren.
Ruth's family would like to thank Cottonwood Senior Living for the tremendous care and support they gave to Ruth while she was a resident.

Ruth is survived by:
Children: James (Susan) Beiermann of Columbus, Dr. Robert (Janet) Beiermann of Big Piney, WY, Larry (JoAnne) Beiermann of Columbus, and Susan (Howard) Borcher of Tecumseh

Grandchildren: Cale Beiermann, Chase (Kelsey) Beiermann, Renee (Dan) Winkle, Ann (Aram) Simsar, Clint and Jenny Beiermann, Zach (Nikki) Beiermann, Emily (Chase Gallagher) Beiermann, Blake (Abby) Beiermann, Alex (Briana Kouma) Beiermann, Cole Beiermann, John (Sheila) Borcher, and Kristine (Derek) Burgess.

Great-Grandchildren: Morgan Winkel, Lucas Winkel, Kate Winkel, Brooks Beiermann, Elliott Beiermann, Ayers Simsar, Atticus Simsar, Barlow Beiermann, Goldwyn Beiermann, Bryce Borcher, Natalie Borcher, Hallie Burgess, Collins Burgess.
