Roy C. Nyffeler of Columbus died Monday, June 30, 2025 at Columbus Community Hospital.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5-7 pm at McKown Funeral Home. Private interment is in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
Roy Calvin Nyffeler was born March 9, 1931 in Columbus to Julius and Lillian (Hegi) Nyffeler. He grew up in rural Columbus where he was baptized and confirmed at St. Luke's and graduated from Kramer High School. He served in the Army National Guard. Roy married Louise Ernst on June 21, 1958 at St. Bonaventure Church in Columbus.
Following high school, Roy worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 9 years and he worked for Lincoln Telephone for 4 years. Roy then farmed north of Duncan starting in 1961 until he retired and moved to Columbus in 1991. In his retirement, he continued to help with work at the farm. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching Nebraska Football and Volleyball. He was a member of the Eagles Club, Duncan Volunteer Fire Department, and the National Rifle Association.

Daughter Brenda Witter of Omaha
Son Bryan (Tracy) Nyffeler of Casper, WY
Son Brent (Mary) Nyffeler of Columbus
Ten Grandchildren
Eight Great Grandchildren
Several nieces, nephews, and cousins
