Rose Ternes, age 96, died Friday, October 27, 2023, at Brookestone Acres in Columbus.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 2, 2023, at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. There will be a rosary prayed at 9 a.m. at the church Thursday, with visitation to follow until 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery.
Rose was born June 18, 1927, to Joseph J. & Anna Frances (Cieloha) Plebanek in St. Edward. She attended rural schools District 68 & District 47. She moved to Columbus after high school graduation. Rose married Richard J. (Dick) Ternes on October 19, 1963, at St. Bonaventure Church in Columbus. The only job Rose had was at Becton Dickinson and remained there until she retired at the age of 65.
Rose loved to travel and was a talented artist. Later in life she had a great interest in genealogy and belonged to Kin Seekers.
Rose and Dick moved into Brookestone Acres in September of 2021. Rose blossomed into quite the social butterfly and was well-known with all the staff and residents.
