Rose T. Stachura of Columbus, formerly of Duncan, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2009 surrounded by her children at her home at Meridian Gardens.
Rose T. Stachura was born November 1, 1915 in Omaha to Lawrence and Victoria (Storc) Bryl. She grew up in Omaha where she attended St. Francis School and Omaha South High School. She was united in marriage to Felix Stachura on September 5, 1938 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Omaha. Rose and Felix resided on the family farm south of Duncan where their three children grew up. Rose worked for Becton-Dickinson for 15 years, retiring to spend time with her family and grandchildren. Rose loved to bake for family, friends, and neighbors. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Duncan where she belonged to St. Ann's Sodality and enjoyed singing in the choir. Rose was also a member and past officer of the Island Community Club.
