Rose Marie Hoffman

Rose Marie (Rossmar) Hoffman, 89, died March 23, 2025, at Columbus Community Hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 am Friday, March 28 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus. Visitation is on Thursday from 5-7 pm at McKown Funeral Home with a 7:00 pm Vigil service to follow. Visitation continues Friday morning from 9:30 am until service time at St. Bonaventure Church. Interment is in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.

Rose Marie was born July 21,1935, in Sioux City, Iowa, to William & Elizabeth (Besch) Rossmar. She grew up in Sioux City where she graduated from Heelan High School. After graduation Rose Marie attended Briar Cliff College. She married Don Hoffman on August 18,1956, in Sioux City. They were married 61 years. Rose Marie was a member of St. Bonaventure Church and Perpetual Adoration. She led the water exercises at the Aquatic Center for over 28 years. She enjoyed playing cards and belonged to many bridge clubs. She loved cooking, baking, long walks with her family, and attending her grandchildren's events.

She is survived by: daughter: Deanna Hoffman of Columbus, NE son: Chris (Julie) Hoffman of Columbus, NE granddaughters: Ashley, McKayla, and Kate Hoffman son: Tom Hoffman of Tulsa, OK granddaughter: Pauline Hoffman daughter: Heidi (Joe) Plance of Omaha, NE grandsons: Mitchell (Kelsey) Plance and Jonathan (Mackenzie) Plance great granddaughter: Genevieve Plance

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, son, Steve, parents, William and Elizabeth Rossmar, brother Richard Rossmar, infant brother Frances Rossmar, sister-in-law Colleen Schuett, and brother-in-law Keith Schorling.

In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Bonaventure Catholic Church or Scotus Central Catholic High School.
