Dorothy "Rusty" and Henry T. "Hank" Jones were happy to welcome their second son, Ronald Edward Jones on July 12, 1949 in Laramie, WY.
Ron spent his school years in Cody, WY with brothers Tom and Larry and sisters Palma and Sherry. The family was active in the Lutheran church. After graduating from High School in Cody, WY in 1967, Ron went on and graduated from Wyoming Technical Institute.
Ron entered the US Army where he completed Airborne Infantry Training. He served in South Korea for 19 months before returning to Cheyenne. While working at the Cheyenne Veterans Affairs Medical Center he attended the University of Wyoming graduating with a bachelor's degree in accounting.
Ron met and married Wendy Jiacoletti. This union brought a gift to all of us, Devon.
Ron spent time in Casper, WY working as an accountant as well as in Sante Fe, NM. He returned to Cheyenne meeting Jean Henderson. They married and blended their families with blessings from family and friends. Ron continued his career working in hospitals in Wyoming and Montana, before moving to David City where he served as the Chief Financial Officer at Butler County Health Care Center until his retirement in 2015.
Ron and Jean settled into retirement in Columbus. Ron's faith was always very important to him. He was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church where he served at an EMHC, assisted with funerals, served on the finance committee and contributed in other areas as well.
Ron loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, woodworking, music, and dancing but he was also content just spending time with Jean and his family. Ron was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Christians Encounter Christ, VFW Post 3704, and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
Ron is survived by his wife Jean of Columbus, daughters Devon (Dustin) Hodges of Albuquerque, Shelley Roark of Columbus, and Kim Mercer of Omaha. 7 grandchildren, Cole (Megan) Roark, Morgan (Tommy) Swyers, Rebecca (Mark) Grant, Dalton Mercer, Lane Mercer, Dante Hodges, and David Edward Hodges. 7 Great Grandchildren. 4 siblings, Tom (Janet) Jones, Sherry Green, Larry (Samantha) Jones, and Palma (Bill) Jack.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Steve Green, and several aunts and uncles.
