Ron "Smoke" Kudron

Ron "Smoke" Kudron, 81, of Columbus, NE passed away Wednesday October 9, 2024 surrounded with love by his family.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 14, 2024 at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Visitation is Sunday 2-5 p.m. There will be a 5:00 p.m. vigil service. Visitation will continue Monday morning 9:30 a.m. until service time all at the church. Interment with military honors by The American Legion Hartman Post #84 Honor Guard will be in the All Saints Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial Donations can be made to St. Jude's Childhood Cancer Fund.

Ron was born December 13th, 1942 in Harvard, NE. Ron's family moved to Columbus Nebraska where he spent the remainder of his life.  Ron attended St. Anthony grade school and graduated from St. Bon's high school in 1960. Ron enlisted in 1962 into the United States Army where he served in the 134th Infantry Unit, stationed in Fort Benning Georgia, Fort Chaffee Arkansas, and Fort Polk Louisiana. Ron was awarded a sharpshooter badge with Auto Rifle Bar, Light Machine Gun Bar and Rifle bar. Ron was honorably discharged in 1968.

Throughout his work life he served as a supervisor at Behlen Manufacturing, Lindsay Mfg. and was a previous volunteer at the Columbus Fire Department. Ron owned and operated several businesses; Car Clean Car Wash, Courtesy Pick up and Smokes Golf Connection where he was named club maker of Nebraska. Ron was a lifelong faithful member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church where he served as an usher, EMHC and member of perpetual adoration. Ron was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

In October, 1963 Ron married Ann Maguire and they started their family of boys; Todd, Michael, Corby, Kip.

Grandchildren; Chelsea Lasovich, Taylor (Edgar) Chico, Bailey (McKahan) Bush, Tyler (Jillian) Kudron , Hannah Kudron, Sam Kudron, Trey Kudron, Ashland Kudron and 7 great grandchildren.

Ron extended the love from his family to Dallass, Ashley, Roman & Ryah Jones and Love Williams.

Ron was proceeded in death by his parents Ed & Barbara Kudron, sister Mary Lou Franssen, brother Mike Kudron, brothers-in-law; Dean Recek, John Dickerson, Lewie Baker, Mike Egger. Parents-in-law; George and Jeanette Maguire. Nephew John Paul Recek and niece Erin Chinwadzimba.
