Roger Roberts

Roger Keith Roberts, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at the age of 68. He was surrounded by his adoring wife, daughters, and brother.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Upon graduation from Lineville High School, he attended Auburn University for 6 years and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering (1981) and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (1983).

While living in Brownsville, Texas, he embarked on his career at KEMET Electronics Corporation. While there, Roger met his best friend and the love of his life, Dolores. His career took him through El Paso, Texas, with AVX Electronics. His remaining 26 years of work were spent in Columbus, Nebraska, with Vishay Dale Electronics, where he became the Director of Test Labs Worldwide.

In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fi shing. He had a love for nature; he enjoyed gardening, birdwatching, and traveling. He enjoyed billiards and spending time with his grandchildren, whether it was going on walks, fi shing, or supporting their activities.

He is preceded in death by his father, Gilford Lee Roberts. He is survived by his mother, Norma Ellen Roberts, and his two brothers, Steve and Greg.

Those left to treasure his memory include his wife of 35 years, Maria Dolores Roberts, daughters Emilia Vasina (Jeff) and Christina Shaiko (Christopher), and grandchildren Katelynn Emily Shaiko (26), Aiden Christopher Shaiko (23), Reece Scott Vasina (17), Parker Presley Vasina (14), Christian Lee Vasina (14), and Aria Cristina Shaiko (12).

His loved ones wish to express their appreciation for the support and kindness shown by many friends and family.

Roger’s loved ones are incredibly fortunate to have had him in their lives. His legacy will live on through his children and grandchildren, and his impact will stay with them forever and always.
