Roger Bredahl, age 86, of Columbus died, Thursday, September 15, 2016 at the Brookestone Acres in Columbus.
Roger was born January 23, 1930 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Katherine Anton. He was raised by his mother and step-father, Severin Bredahl. He grew up in Wisconsin where he received his education. He later continued his education at Central Community College in Columbus. He served in the United States Marine Corps from March 29, 1948 until June 30, 1972. He served in Korea, Okinawa and Vietnam and retired as a Master Gunnery Sgt. He married Maxine Kozisek on October 22, 1955 in California. Following his military career he worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 20 years until his retirement in 1992.
Roger was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, American Legion Hartman Post #84, V.F.W. #3704, and the Eagles Club. He enjoyed camping, golf, traveling, bowling and spending time with his family.

daughter: Dawn (Mike) Olson of Columbus
grandchildren:Katris (Jason) Donnay, Mathew Aerts, Paul Aerts, Kelsey (Justin) Stuefen, Kayla (John) Pelster, Ethan Martensen, Weston Martensen and step grandchildren: Mark (Tiffany) Olson, Jennifer Olson and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Katherine and Severin Bredahl and an infant daughter: Karen.
