Rodney Lloyd Sheldon, 81, of Columbus, was welcomed into his Savior's loving arms on September 10, 2026 in Hot Springs, South Dakota.

Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 19, 2026 at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rising City. Visitation is 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, September 18 at McKown Funeral Home. Interment is in Faith Lutheran Cemetery.

He was born April 5th 1945 in Madison SD to Lloyd and Vivian Sheldon. He went to Madison Public schools. He married Sarah Sulzle on May 4th, 1968 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, SD. He worked at D&L in Columbus and IBP/Tyson pork plant in Madison, NE until retirement. He enjoyed attending his kids high school events. He enjoyed watching his Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. He attended and enjoyed watching dirt track racing.

He was preceded in death by this parents Lloyd and Vivian Sheldon, his sister Rosalie VanHeuveln. and grandson Connor Lloyd Sheldon.

He is survived by wife Sarah Sheldon of Columbus. Sons Marty Sheldon. Kearney NE and Clint (Jennifer) Sheldon. Hot Springs, SD. Grandchildren Mikal Duncan of Cozad NE, Hannah (Matt) Thomas of Orange, TX, and Zachary Blahak of Fremont, NE, and one great grandchild Alana Thomas of  Orange, TX.
