Robin Kay Hinrichs Birkel, 42, of Grandview, MO passed away on Monday, February 24, 2014, after a lengthy illness.
Robin was born April 4, 1971 in Omaha, Nebraska. She grew up in Columbus and attended Columbus High School. She graduated in 1989.
Robin was united in marriage to Lynn Birkel in 1988. She has three boys who all graduated from Columbus High School, and a daughter who is currently attending school at Scotus Central Catholic.
Robin had lived in Grandview, MO, near family for the past five years. She enjoyed gardening, shopping, being outdoors, spending time with her family and children, and she was always up for trying new things.
Robin is survived by her children, Quenten Birkel, Cameron Birkel, Hunter Birkel, and Evelyn Birkel, all of Columbus; mother and step-father, Anita and Jim Fish of Belton, MO; sister, Brandy (Troy) Rutten of Las Vegas, NV; brother John (Mellisa) Ernst of Columbus; sister Kayle Ernst of Columbus; step-sister Katrina Houston of Sacramento, CA; grandmother Peggy Walsh and her significant other Charlie Paine of Grandview, MO; step-grandmother Karen Hinrichs of Columbus; nieces Stormy and Taja Ernst of Columbus; niece Noa Rutten of Las Vegas, NV; nephew Cory Ernst of Stromsburg, NE, aunts, Ann Hinrichs Reins of Omaha, Beth Ann Hinrichs of Omaha; uncles Brad (Judy) Hinrichs of Columbus, Jeff (Jenny) Hinrichs of Omaha; and many cousins.
She is preceded in death by her grandfathers Lee Hinrichs and Jack Walsh
