Robert O. Parry died Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Bryan LGH East in Lincoln.
Robert O. Parry was born April 24, 1934 in Platte County, Nebraska to David and Martha (Albers) Parry. He grew up on a farm north of Monroe and the Postville Community. Robert received his education from Districts #31 and #32 in Platte County and graduated from Genoa High School. He then received his Associate Degree in business from Platte College in Columbus. Robert served in the U.S. Army from March 1957 March 1959 obtaining the rank of SP4 and being stationed in Fort Lewis, Washington.
After returning home from the Army, he farmed with his father for 4 years. He then went to work for Golds Department Store in Lincoln and Harding Glass in Kearney and Columbus. In 1966, he went to work for Becton-Dickinson as a Set-Up Operator and then in Supervision. In 1994 he retired after 28 years. Robert married Patricia Volnek on October 16, 1971 in Columbus. He has served as president of the Postville Welsh Cemetery Board since 1990 and he designed and supervised the new entrance to Postville Welsh Cemetery and many of the improvements that were made since he became president. He was a member of St. Bonaventure Church, the B-D Alumni, Platte County Historical Society and St. Davids Welsh Society.
