Robert Ohnemus

Robert Ohnemus, age 72 of Columbus, died Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Columbus Community Hospital.

Funeral services are 10:30 am Thursday, February 13 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus with the Rev. Wayne Nestor officiating.  Visitation is on Wednesday from 5-8 pm at McKown Funeral Home and continues on Thursday from 9:30 am until service time at the church.  Interment is in Roselawn Cemetery.

Robert "Bob" Ohnemus was born April 20, 1947 in Moline, Illinois to Robert and Katheryn (Lawson) Ohnemus. He grew up in Dewitt, Iowa where he received his education. Following high school, Bob joined the US Navy where he served until receiving his medical discharge. Bob went to work for US Gypsum in Mediapolis, IA. He moved to Oklahoma City where he married Connie Krueger on January 23, 1970. They moved to Columbus where Bob worked for Moorman Feed for 27 years. He then worked 10 years for Douglas-Lomason before retiring due to his health. Bob was a member of Trinity Lutheran church where he served on the Board of Directors of KTLX and worked as a radio operator. He was also a member of the Friday Morning Breakfast Group. He was a volunteer at Columbus Community Hospital for 10 years and a member of the Shelby Booster Club. Nobody was a stranger to Bob, he loved to visit. He was a Husker fan and a Shelby Husky fan. Bob loved playing cards, computer games, and fishing.
